Our actions can leave an impression on others, whether positive or negative. During these trying times, it’s easy to forget that while we are collectively impacted by the events happening around us, others are suffering through their own battles, sometimes in silence. That’s why we must remember to approach everyone with peace, love and grace.
- Approach Others with Peace
As the genius Albert Einstein once said, “Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.” First, you must find peace and understanding within yourself before you can truly Make Impact in the lives of others. If you’re feeling restless in your life, or if someone or something is preventing you from finding peace, make a change. Once you’ve found your peace, take the time to understand the potential battles of those around you. Combining your inner peace and understanding your neighbor’s struggles will help you not only empathize with those around you, but also promote positivity and unity.
- Approach Others with Love
Spreading love, even in the smallest of moments, is a great way to Make Impact. If you see a mother struggling with her child in a store, or a man holding up a sign asking for change, fill your heart with warmth and love before approaching. Offer a helping, loving hand to the mother, and picture the man asking for change as your own father. By treating others with this kind, selfless love, you’ll Make Impact that is truly wonderful. It may seem like a small gesture to you, but it could mean the world to someone else.
- Approach Others with Grace
The word “grace” has a couple of definitions. Grace can mean either “simple elegance” or “courteous goodwill,” and both definitions can apply here. When it comes to approaching someone with grace in the form of simple elegance, do so by staying above the negativity and judgement of society. It can be easy to get swept up in the stereotypes and negativity portrayed in the media, so approaching people with grace allows you to see past what sits at face value. Instead, you are able to see them for who they are, which could change their lives and yours.
With these three approaches, Making Impact in the lives of others is simple and easy. Those you come in contact with may not always remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel. They’ll remember that someone with peace, love, and grace in their heart approached them and brightened their day.
